DTN Closing Livestock Comment 03/08 15:21 Southern Cattle Trade Develops at $185 It took until Friday for cash cattle trade to develop in the South, but packers finally upped their bids to $185 and got cattle bought. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: It was another mixed day for the livestock complex as the cattle contracts rounded out the week lower while the hog complex closed mostly higher. Cash cattle trade did finally develop in the South at $185 which is $2.00 higher than last week's weighted average. Hog prices closed lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $0.99 with a weighted average price of $76.18 on 1,881 head. May corn is up 1 3/4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is up $7.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 68.66 points.
