Farmer selling remains at a virtual standstill at current price levels, and unseasonably warm March weather has producers getting an early start on fieldwork. New crop August bids today show soft white at $5.50, hard red winter 11.5% protein at $6.16, and dark northern spring 14% protein at $7.20. Shipments...It was a subdued week for U.S. wheat shipments last week, with the overall total coming in at 11 mb to put year-to-date loadings at 505 mb and 15% behind a year ago. By class, hard red winter saw 3.1 mb in loadings, hard red spring was at 2.7 mb and soft white at just 1.1 mb. West coast export activity was focused on corn, with Pacific Rim countries taking on 15 mb. South Korea was the top wheat destination with 2 mb and China took 3 mb of soybeans. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2024 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
