DTN Closing Grain Comments 06/07 13:46 Grain, Soy Markets Fall Hard to End Volatile Week; Crop Conditions Favorable, Turkey Halts Wheat Imports Grain and soy markets plunged in unison Friday, led by wheat and soybeans, which saw Chicago and Minneapolis wheat close lower for the eighth consecutive day and soy for the eighth time in the past nine days. A bit warmer and drier outlook for the central U.S. and favorable early crop ratings brought sellers in. Wheat was sharply lower and pressured by the news that Turkey would halt wheat imports until October along with the advancing winter wheat harvest. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 3 1/4 cents per bushel, December was down 2 1/4 cents, July soybeans closed down 20 3/4 cents per bushel and November finished down 9 1/4. July KC wheat settled down 12 1/4 cents per bushel, July Chicago wheat was down 12 cents per bushel and July Minneapolis wheat finished down 12 1/2 cents.
