Exporter bid structures show white wheat prices are flat over the next two months with only modest carries being reflected in the protein wheat markets. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed 12.7 mbus of wheat moved off U.S. ports last week, compared to 24.5 mbus the prior week. Year-to date shipments now stand 24% ahead of a year ago at 168 mbus. Hard red winter was the top mover with 6.5 mbus, followed by soft white with 3.1 mbus and hard red spring with 2 mbus. West coast export activity showed 10 mbus of wheat shipped, with half of that going to Indonesia, and 7.3 mbus of corn loaded for Japan. Crop Progress...USDA reported that more than 20% of the winter wheat crop was harvested last week in both Idaho and Washington, showing crops at respective completion rates of 72% and 85%. Oregon stands nearly 90% complete and a few points below the average pace. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2024 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
