DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/21 13:54 Wheat Rally Stopped in Its Tracks Again; Corn Little Changed; Soy Firmer in Quiet Trade The wheat market rebuffed early strength to trade sharply lower and once again appears ready to challenge the lows. There was little news to drive markets Wednesday other than weakness in the French wheat market. Corn and soybeans were modestly higher early, getting a slight bump from disappointing yield estimates from the ongoing crop tour compared to the USDA. Soybeans got a boost from more new crop sales. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn was up 1/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans closed up 5 1/2 cents per bushel. December KC wheat was down 9 1/2 cents per bushel, December Chicago wheat finished down 12 1/2 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat ended down 9 1/2 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.409 at 100.890. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 27.60 points at 40,862.57. December gold is up $4.10 at $2,554.70, September silver is up $0.17 at $29.69 and September copper is up $0.0520 at $4.2105. October crude oil is down $1.07 at $72.10, October heating oil is down $0.0118, October RBOB is down $0.0288 and September natural gas is down $0.017.
