DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/23 13:48 Soybeans and Soybean Oil Surge Higher, Wheat Falls to New Contract Lows Again In quiet trade, soybeans and soybean oil rallied sharply on Thursday, pulling some strength from the stronger palm and crude oil markets. Corn traded around unchanged to slightly lower for much of the day in slow trade before fading to within a half cent of the low. Wheat futures were lower again one day after each market fell to a new contract low, with all three markets forging new contract lows again Friday. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 2 1/2 cents per bushel and November soybeans finished up 11 1/2 cents per bushel. December KC wheat was down 10 cents per bushel, December Chicago wheat settled down 7 1/2 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat closed down 11 3/4 cents.
