CME GLOBEX RECAP: Markets begin Friday morning on a mostly weaker trend. Low volume, holiday trade should continue, but we have a few reports delayed due to the holiday that will be released later Friday morning. Leading the pack would be grain export sales, and with several flash sales last week of corn, soybeans and soymeal, we can expect solid sales levels to be reported. The EIA will be out with their delayed ethanol production and stocks data from the weekly petroleum status report. The CFTC's Commitments of Traders report is delayed until Monday. Traders will again focus on South American, especially Argentine, weather where a drier pattern has emerged but crops remain in good shape. First notice day on January futures is Dec. 31, so longs will need to exit by Monday.
