DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/27 13:51 Ag Commodities Close Strong Christmas Week With Mixed Trade Traders closed the Christmas week by squaring positions heading into the weekend and into a New Year as only two trading sessions now remain in 2024. The market finally was given some fundamental fuel to drive it forward in the form of export sales which were largely mixed as well, strong in corn, wheat, and soy products, but disappointing for soybeans. Outside markets were also mixed with equities down and a weaker U.S. Dollar Index. The Brazilian real also pressured the soybean complex Friday as the currency drifts back toward last week's dismal closes following a short-lived burst to close last week. Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 1/4 cents and May corn was up 1 cents. March soybeans closed down 7 1/2 cents and May soybeans were down 7 cents. March KC wheat closed up 3 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 5 1/2cents, March Minneapolis wheat was up 1 1/4 cents.
