Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: There was no overnight trade for grain markets Christmas evening. Trade will resume at 8:30 a.m. CST Thursday. For Dec. 24, March corn settled up 3/4 cents at $4.48 1/2, January soybeans up 4 1/4 cents at $9.79 3/4, and March KC wheat down 7 1/4 at $5.43 3/4. CME GLOBEX RECAP: It is likely to be another quiet trade the day after Christmas as the market can tend to stay in holiday mode through New Years. There will be very little in the form of fundamental news updates Thursday, but USDA will return Friday with export sales and the EIA. will also report on ethanol production to close the week. Traders will watch these reports for reaffirmation of what has been decent demand for U.S. grains through the late fall/early winter thus far. Otherwise, South American weather will continue to demand attention into 2025 as crops approach key development stages. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 390.08 at 43,297.03 and the S&P 500 Index up 65.97 at 6,040.04. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.59%. Early Thursday, March Dow Jones futures are down 173 points. The spot futures of the London FTSE 100 are trading up 0.47%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.44% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.12%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index is up 0.61% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.27%.
